    Paph Albion

This is Paph. Albion 'Wyld Court' FCC/RHS, an "oldie but goodie". One of my first orchids, it was purchased at Rod Mclellan nursery in the late 60's. Cheers, Paul

    Phragmipedium Windsor Castle

The color of this flower really stands out among my other plants. This is the third bloom. The leaves on the flower stem haven't appeared previously... Back lighting: Throwing in this photo of La Vingtaine. It illustrates the slight color break I'm seeing in a few of my Phrags. My night...

    Phragmipedium besseae var. dalessandroi (?)

I'm pretty sure this is the real deal. No true branching yet. Maybe next blooming? (This one is from Ecuagenera.) Cheers, Paul

    Another fairrieanum from Hillsview

Paph. fairrieanum ('stunning' x 'Hillsview' FCC/AOS): I really like the dark color of this one. Not quite as nice as the pollen parent, but one of the best I have bloomed. Good growing, Paul

    Distorted blossom

This Phrag. Cardinal is certainly disappointing. Hopefully the problem isn't genetic, and the next blooming will be better. Anyone with a similar experience? Cheers and good growing, Paul

    Tall tails - Phragmipedium humboldtii

I had to take this out of the greenhouse to get a decent picture. Certainly not a clean composition, but the size of the plant and strong wind gusts made things a bit difficult. Many thanks to my wife, Lisa, who held onto the background! Cheers, Paul

    Phrag caricinum

It started to open a couple days ago. Shape could be better, but maybe it will improve. It was purchased in spike, so I can't take credit for it yet. Cheers and good growing, Paul

    Phrag. Yoko W. Fischer

This has been open a couple weeks, and it is perhaps past its' prime, but the color really stands out in the greenhouse. Pretty sure it is from Quintal Farms. Cheers and good growing, Paul

These flowers are from the same clone. This was the first bloom produced in warmer conditions - photo taken August 31: This is the latest and last flower on the spike The photo was taken January 1st: The petal blemish is unfortunate, but the flower segments are fuller. The color is a...

    Orchid Digest - Phragmipedium issue!

My Orchid Digest arrived today, and it's "The Phragmipedium Issue". Reading and re-reading this will certainly help me forget my election angst, for a while. Frank Cervera has authored a species checklist, and articles on taxonomy and cultivation. Plus, there's "Breeding for White...
