    Finally... Phragmipedium humboltii in spike!

Its a magnificent blooming, regardless of the name mixup! Great pictures showing the lip detail! Are you now in search for a true humboldtii/popowii?

    Finally... Phragmipedium humboltii in spike!

I caught this thread just in time! Really looking forward to seeing these! Great job!! They are slow, still waiting for mine to bloom from years of growing.

    Paphiopedilum mastersianum

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll maybe try moving them to higher light!
  4. Dandrobium

    Paphiopedilum mastersianum

I've got a new growth on the one I flowered last year, although still small, so likely no bloom this year. 3 other seedlings are doing well too.
  5. Dandrobium

    Paphiopedilum mastersianum

I like it! Great job Leslie! They are a slow species, no doubt
  6. Dandrobium

    Paphiopedilum gigantifolium

Great job growing! How big was the plant when you first started with it? I've also got one at 50cm LS but not sure how long from here
  7. Dandrobium

    Paphiopedilum tigrinum

Great growing! Wonderful bloom on that!

Mislabelled? Waunakee Sunset or Barbara Leann x self?

Oh yes, my mistake! Thanks MaxC, Orchids Limited. I ordered flasks recently, so I have OI on my mind. It doesn't fall into the spectrum of red influence I would expect of those other Waunakee Sunsets from that link. Just tried selfing it today, we will see!

Mislabelled? Waunakee Sunset or Barbara Leann x self?

No word back from Orchid Inn. Perhaps I'll try to self it, to see if pods will set. This may give me some indication. I know there is still a small chance a 3N can breed, but typically not. I think it resembles other BL's enough that its a good possibility...

    Paph. mastersianum

Hey Leslie, sounds good. Mine is still in bloom, but I'll likely cut the spike soon. I can send pollen next week if that works for you Dan
  13. Dandrobium

    Paphiopedilum mastersianum ‘Chocolate’

Thats a gorgeous bloom Leslie! I love the dark pouch! It should fully open after about a week, at least mine took about that long. I'll cut the spike and send the pollen this week.

    Just sent an email. Thanks!

Mislabelled? Waunakee Sunset or Barbara Leann x self?

I picked up this plant a couple years back at auction, and now that its in bloom, I'm thinking this particular plant is a selfing of the Barbara Leann 'Hot Hot Hot' parent. Just wanted to confirm with you folk, so I can confidently 'rebrand' this phrag ;) What do you think? I know fischeri can...

    Paph. mastersianum

It has a sphagnum topping, but otherwise its in a mix of medium orchiata, perlite, LECA, and a bit of charcoal
  20. Dandrobium

    Paphiopedilum leucochilum album

Gorgeous! The plant looks really healthy too!
