    Cyp. japonicum

First to blooom for me this year at 40ºN in central Ohio. I've had it a few years and so far bloomed each year. Flower almost 4" across on a 10" tall plant. Grown in a plastic pot sunk into a raised bed outside, beside the greenhouse.

    Paph. delenatii album

So glad this turned out to be delenatii album; somehow it had lost its tag and since I couldn't find my delenatii album and the foliage looked appropriate I had tentatively put that name in the pot. A nice one, at that!

    Paph.malipoense

This has been 'in spike' since July and opened at the end of February, not an uncommon thing for the species. Large and well-colored and marked. I only wish it were a more robust grower. It has remained a one-growth plant for years, though it has bloomed every other year or so, and I am hoping...

    Paph.micranthum 11 buds/flrs on 10 inflorescences

My best blooming of this ~40-growth plant yet: eleven flowers/buds on ten inflorescences; one inflorescence is double-flowered. Haven't seen that before on micranthum, though the 50+ growth armeniacum has done it a couple of times. Growing in a 10" wire basket in a fine bark mix with a bit of...

    Paph.venustum

Finally got the purplish venustum I've been looking for. Took a bit over a year to bloom it, but well worth the wait to me!

    Paph.jackii album

A surprise blooming on a small plant; this took far less time than the malipoense now also opening, which has been 'in spike' since about July.

    Phrag. Schroederae

IMHO, the finest pre-bessea phrag. hybrid (Sedenii x caudatum). While it is a robust grower, it is a shy bloomer in my experience. But well worth the wait with its elegant, large pink flowers. This time, I got three flowers, though one was fading by the time the last two opened.

    Phrag.besseae

Only have three besseaes, and this species never dissapoints. Large flowers, easy bloomer. Acquired in a trade 15 years ago.

    Paph.barbatum

I must admit I'm very pleased with this first blooming on my barbatum; nice dark, shapely flowers, well-presented.

For Sale 31-growth Paph.armeniacum - lifetime opportunity! SOLD!!

I have come to the difficult decision to part with this wonderful plant; as I have the larger plant which blooms every year, I really don't have room for a bunch of these large plants of one species in my small greenhouse, or the time and energy to give the care they need. This is a once in a...

    Paph.micranthum, 30+ growths, 5 spikes

This Paph.micranthum has in the past been a difficult bloomer; gowing it cooler has improved its performance. 5 spikes (two just now breaking bud out of their growths) on a 30+growth plant, it is kept moist in medium light year-round, and grown cool especially in the fall and winter, in a fine...

    Paph.armeniacum 'Orchid Court' CCM/AOS: 50+growths, eight spikes

Paph.armeniacum 'Orchid Court' CCM/AOS. As spring and winter fight a tug of war here in Ohio, spring is winning in the greenhouse with this cheerful display of bright yellow. like a mini sun. Eight inflorescences on a 50+growth plant, this plant lifts my spirits every time I see it! Grown up...

    Paph.micranthum v.eburneum

Also a first-bloom seedling. Tiny plant; flower not as large as the one I've bloomed previously, but I suppose that will improve as the plant grows larger. Have another in low spike so we'll keep this pic for comparison.

    Paph. micranthum album

Large flower for a tiny first-bloom seedling. Staminode just a bit wonky, but hopefully will improve on future bloomings. Another successs for my cool growing case!
