Welp, my first thaianum x Hellas bud blasted while I was away at the show. Can't have nice things. Looked like it was gonna be cool, too. Now to add insult to injury, someone will probably beat me to the punch to register it.

There were three spikes, but I knocked a bud off one & decided to just cut it. Flowers on the right side aren't done twisting yet.

Bought a compot from Longwood Gardens last year. Kinda disappointing ( They can be much darker pink than this) but still cute. Flowers are about 2 x 2 x 4mm

6.5 years of my life from pollination to spike, 5 years from flask. These took a lot longer than I expected, but things were set back for quite a while last year. I suspect I could do it in 3.5 - 4 years from flask, if I had the chance to try again. Anyway, in spike at last on a 31in wide...

This one got hit pretty hard in last year's mess, but it's on the mend. Obviously it can do more than what it's doing right now.

Just getting ready to pop. Got this last year off ebay as a large seedling which originally came from Quintal. Crazy dark purple so far, hope it stays that way. Like every viet I've ever bloomed, it has two buds on the stem.

2nd of my cross of roth x Nimit to bloom. Threw a gimpy petal, but that will work itself out next time. Even with the undersized petal, NS 12.1cm, Dorsal 5.1cm, petal width 2.9cm.

crinifera x rhodocheila. Cool flowers, but obnoxiously tall ( 27in and it's still a baby.)

Ah, bacony goodness. It did multiply last year, but this is the only tuber that bloomed. I think it needs to be brought into dormancy more carefully than I did. We'll try again.

Getting to be a big thing. I need to count again but I believe the most floriferous stem has 33 flowers & buds.
