Main Street Orchids and Deep Cut Orchid Show

It was my understanding that Main Street was suppose to be a vendor at the Deep Cut show but I was just told that they just closed down. Does anyone have any further information on this? Went to their website but nothing there, nor are there but 2 plants listed. Seems a little unbelievable to...

Anyone have a good e-mail for J&L Orchids

I've been trying to get in touch with J&L Orchids for a couple of weeks now to place a pre-order of something that is not on their site and that needs to be in within a few days. I've tried twice and received no response when using their web site. This really makes no sense as it says on the...

    Paph. rothschildianum

I took the long drive to the Deep Cut show today and bought a number of phrags and one paph. I bought I rothschildianum 'Tiger' x 'Red Eagle' AM/AOS. Do you roth experts think this is a good set of parents? The tag appears to have come from Hilo Orchids. This has a single growth with a 23...

    Wanted 2.75" McConkey square pots

Looking to get a quantity of McConkey 2.75 pots. These are the short ones that are roughly the same height as width. Sunsetvalley Orchids uses these for their catt. seedlings. Might even consider used ones. I'd like to do an experiment using these as outer pots while putting a net pot inside...

    Fernwood New Zealand Tree Fern

Has anyone tried using the new soft New Zealand tree fern by Fernwood, either as the only substrate as they suggest or combined with bark mixes? Some where on the net I once say a page that showed this product in different stages of wetness and telling you when you should water it. Can't seem...

    Complex Breeding Knowledge

I have been looking at the Tokyo Orchids flask list that Paph Paradise is offering. My question is why are they pairing a nice pink or white complex with Paph Hellas 'Westonbert'? What is Hellas bring to the table? They are offering a nice round white or pink crossed onto Hellas. Why?

Something that I have never seen!

Here is a photo of a first boom complex that I grew from flask. It was the only one that I didn’t kill. It has a bud starting in the normal spot, as well as not one but two buds coming from the base of the plant. One of the ones at the base is starting to starting to swell. The other one at...

    I don’t know who I am!

I really don’t know what cross this is. It was purchased as armeniacum x micranthum. Leaves are each about 4 1/2” long. Appears to be a sequential bloomer. Stem length is only about 3" tall. In Nov. of last year I bought a group of paphs. Only two where mature size. This one and one that...

    Hillsview Garden Orchids

Yesterday I potted out a compot of Theresa’s orchids. It had grown very well for me. The cross is, Olympic Emerald ‘Spotted’ x henryanum ‘Hoodview’ HCC/AOS. This is the most seedlings that survived under my care. This is just a crazy number. I must say she sells great flasks, compots and...
