    Phrag. manzurii

I have 4 Phrag. manzurii's in bud or beginning to spike. They usually sell for $60 in my greenhouse and are esnapped up when collectors see them. Since no colletors are allowed at my greenhouse now, each is for sale now at $50. Shipping is additional and will be $10 - 15, depending on how far...

    Awards value

Had a discussion at a show recently about awards. My friend wants AM's, FCC's, and all the flower awards he can get. I think a growers award, CCM's and CCE's, is by far, the better of the two. Neither of us do much breeding, but we do sell orchids. I understand the dollar value of...

    Paph. Screaming Eagle

Does anyone have an opinion on whether this is really Screaming Eagle? Apparently it is a very rare hybrid. I got it from a group of $10 tiny seedlings. As far as I can tell, it is, but I'd appreciate all opinions. Also, if not, what do you think it is.

    Good fun and THE GAUNTLET

First, this is somewhat in good fun, but i think the nonsense about using fert at 10ppmN should be put to sleep - (and allow me to finally declare victory over all who take pleasure starving your orchids). I think this is very bad advice and new growers who read this are being led down a...

    Help please

Is there a thread that describes how to post pics? Everytime I try I get a "Files to large" message even though I resize the pic in Photoshop to 72 pixels/inch and a 4x6 size. If there is a way to easily post several pics in one posting I would appreciate the help. Thanks

    Encyclia mariae question

For years I've been growing mariae's and they've always bloomed with green petals. I recently got a few more and the petals are a yellow/pea green color. They aren't fragrant so I doubt it's a citrina/mariae cross. In addition the bulbs on the new ones are very much rounder than the older...

    Calcium supplementation for multis

I've read that most multiflorals like some type of calcium supplementation. My questions are: 1. Do you need to supplement if using MSO RO fertilizer in RO water? 2. If yes, what is best to supplement with - dolomite or oyster shell? Both of these are available to me and are very...
