    Paph. Juno

Here's a pic of my Paph. Juno (Paph. callosum x Paph. fairrieanum). It does look much like the bloom myoxdex posted in this thread a while back: http://www.slippertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1920&highlight=juno. Did you see the movie of the same name?

    What's This Pointy Thing?

This blossom is my first re-blooming of Paph. 'Booth's St. Bern x Baby Gland' from Windyhill Farms. One of the blossoms has a spike of tissue sticking out. The other blossom does not. What's up? Just curious. Thanks for any information. Here's a photo of the pouch: Wilson

    Chinese Ladybugs

I've found the occasional Chinese ladybug on my orchids. Are these any sort of problem? At least I don't see any aphids.

    Paph. callosum x Paph. acmodontum

Here is a picture of one that has recently blossomed, Paph. collosum 'Vini #5' x Paph. acmodontun 'Fremont Peak.' The tag on the plant has it labeled as above, though I wonder if "collosum" shouldn't be"callosum." Am I wrong in thinking that either a spelling error has occurred, or are the...

    Hybrid Definitions?

Is there a precise definition of "bulldog Paph.?" I'm reasonably sure it is a "complex hybrid," but not all complex hybrids are "bulldogs." I presume a "complex hybrid" has at least one parent a hybrid itself. Thanks for any information.

Paph. Vanguard 'Dark' x Paph. sanderianum

Here is a picture of a recent bloomer, Paph. Vanguard 'Dark' x Paph. sanderianum. Sorry for the poor photo, but I was trying to get a good angle on the shot and the plant fell over spilling its 'beans' causing me to quit taking the pictures and basically repot the plant in mid bloom, a no-no as...

    Paph. Goultenianum x Luna Moth

Here is a photo of Paph. Goultenianum 'France' x Paph. Luna Moth 'Smart,' which opened last week It could be a poster child for having a wonky pouch.

    Moisture Meter?

Does anyone use a moisture meter, such as the Momet? If so, do you have any recommendations? I am basically guessing when the plants need water, though I haven't killed anything (yet).

    Another Paph. villosum

I don't want to clutter this board with redundant photographs, but I thought this one was so pretty. So, here is Paph villosum 'High Gloss': I hope you like it.

A Few New Ones From MOS Show and Sale

I picked up three new orchids at the Missouri Orchid Society show and sale this last weekend in St. Louis held at the Missouri Botanical Garden. All came from Windy Hill Gardens and include a Paph. rothschieldianum, a Paph. villosum and a blooming hybrid, Paph. Booth's St. Bern 'War Eagle' x...

    My Oldest Blossom

I purchased this orchid, Paph. Goultenianum ‘France’ x Paph. farrieanum album ‘Hsinying’, from a local shop four months and three days ago and the original blossom is still hanging in there. I think that is pretty cool. What is the longest you have had a Paph hold onto its flower? Here is a...

    Unknown Paph in St. Louis

Yesterday we went to the annual Orchid Show at the Missouri Botanical Garden. This was my first time there and my first orchid show and it was lovely. Quite a few Paphs were on display including a bunch of big boy hybrids, a couple that I would love to have (P. St. Swithen and P. Ledouxiae)...

To Mist Or Not To Mist

That is the question. If so, with what, how often, and when? Thanks, Wilson

Paph. Hsinying Cherry x Paph. Hsinying Maru

Out of curiosity, I went to the RHS website and looked up the ancestry of my Paph. Hsinying Cherry x Paph. Hsinying Maru “Ching Hua.” The plant has more relatives and a better documented heritage than I do! If a hybrid has no "name," does that indicate it has not been registered? Here is a...

    What's With "Hisinying?"

The second Paph I bought, Paph. Hsinying Cherry x Paph. Hsinying Maru “Ching Hua,” has rebloomed. I have a couple of other orchids with the Hsinying label as well. I wonder what or who is "Hsinying." Thanks. Wilson

What Is This On My Paph?

I received this Paph. malipoense from Orchids Limited in spike aboout ten weeks ago. The bud rather suddenly died and I cut off the spike. There was some of this rusty stuff on the two lowest leaves (which died and were removed) when it arrived and the black spots you see on the others. The...
