Paph. haynaldianum goes to the show!

I sent my Paph. haynaldianum to its first show on Vancouver Island last weekend and it won best Paphiopedilum, best grown under lights, and was the Reserve Champion. Unfortunately I stayed home and missed all the action! Oh well, I was a proud mama from a distance.

Another lovely Marriott/Koopman bloom - Paph. Luminance 'New World'

I really like the pale yellow pouch against the white flower. A keeper for sure!

Paph. Bella Luna from Marriott, now Koopman Orchids

Some of my Marriott/Koopman orchids are starting to bloom and I've been quite happy with them. I purchased this one in low bud in October. For those of you who didn't know, the Marriott seedlings were purchased by Koopman Orchids here in BC after much planning and a very long trip from North...

Paph. platyphyllum 'Super Clone x sib' first bloom

Got this as a seedling in February, 2020 and it now has a 30" ls with a large second growth and the start of a third growth. Super Clone is right! It originated from Sam however I purchased it from a nursery here in Canada. It still somehow fits under the lights on the lower shelf of my light...

    Paphiopedilum purpuratum

Second time blooming for this little guy. I'm happy with how it's turned out.

    Paph. leuchochilum x sib

My leucochilum is ready for Dr. Leslie's newly appointed T.E.L.L group to have a say. It doesn't have a completely clear pouch but the leaves are solid dark green and very dark red/purple on the underside. I'm also enclosing a picture of it with its cousin myanmaricum for comparison.

    Paph. godefroyae var. ang thong

Back in bloom after taking a few years off. I don't know if it's truly ang thong but the tag reads Paph. godefroyae var. ang thong 'Spotted Beauty' x sib 'Tall Beauty' for those of you who may be curious.

    Paph. Shun-Fa Golden........seeing double!

This is a first bloom for this plant and what a surprise it gave me with two blooms opening several weeks apart. Not only are the flowers huge and standing up nice and tall without support, they are also both incredibly fragrant. A keeper for sure :)

    Paph. myanmaricum first bloom

Very happy to see this little cutie make its grand entrance today. I got it more than a week after our spring show this year thanks to a missed connecting flight followed by a lengthy wait at customs (the officers were on strike at the time). Despite the challenges it has grown well for me and I...

Paph. fairrieanum ('Red Wonder' x self) update

Apologies for taking so long to post this update. I was away for a few days and then my cat got sick when I got home. All is well now and this fairrieanum has both blooms fully open. It has two new small growths at the base of the plant so we'll see what happens with the next blooming.

    Paph. godfroyae album first bloom

Have had this plant since early 2022 and am happy with its first bloom. The flower has been open for a while so please excuse the brown marks.

Paph. fairrieanum ('Red Wonder' x self)

In bloom for the second time since I got it in September, 2021. It grows on the lower shelf of my light stand where winters seem to be cool enough. In the summer it enjoys the fresh breeze coming in from an open skylight. It's in Orchiata/perlite and I fertilize with MSU and CalMag twice a week. .

    Paph. hangianum

Back in bloom for the third time. First bloom was September, 2019, second bloom was September 2021 so it's picked up the pace a little for this year. The bloom about 14 cm wide now, very fragrant, and I've included a picture of Paph thaianum with it for size reference.

Paph. villosum var. annamense (or not)

I bought this plant as a seedling a few years ago as Paph. villosum var. annamense. It's clearly just using that name as an alias. Last night at my orchid club's monthly show table judging one of the judges pointed out that it most likely has spicerianum in it and thinks it's probably one of the...

    Paphiopedilum Mint Chocolate 'Chip' AM/AOS

My Mint Chocolate had a good day at our monthly judging yesterday earning an AM with a score of 86 points. It's been a reliable bloomer for me for the past few years, however, covid shut down our monthly judging for nearly two years so this was the first opportunity I had to present it for...

    Paph. Mint Chocolate 'Chip' AM/AOS

I'm very humbled to have had this paph awarded with a score of 86 points at our monthly judging yesterday. It was gifted to me as a seedling by the seller near the end of our show and sale five years ago when he asked me if I had Mint Chocolate yet. I said no and he placed this beautiful little...

    Paph. randsii

I haven't posted anything for a while but am excited to see my Paph. randsii coming into bloom for the first time since I acquired it as a seedling in 2016. There are a total of six blooms opening on the inflorescence. I've been growing it intermediate to warm and bright with waterings twice a...

    Paph. druryi

Acquired as a seedling in 2017 and now blooming for the first time. It enjoys a very bright location on my light stand and can even take some sun but it does not like to dry out.

    Wossner China Moon

It took three years to bloom and I'm pleased with the result. I posted this one earlier in my "Cousins" thread but it's fully open now and I wanted to put it in the spotlight. It's such an intense yellow, I don't think the pictures really do it justice. As a bonus it has a light fragrance from...
