The only Lycaste reference I have in my library is a very old copy of “The Genus Lycaste” by J. A. Fowlie, M. D. It was copywrite 1970. It might still contain some useful information.
Reminds me of jade plants. Here in Michigan we grow them indoors as an ornamental. Years ago I was attending training classes in Pasadena, CA. There they grow them outdoors as hedges with stems the size of my arm.
I finally brought my potted rosemary inside after a few frosts. While watering it I noticed that it had what appeared to be buds. A couple of days ago it finally bloomed. What a nice surprise and totally unexpected.
This one should be blooming for a long time. I have a Paph. Salvador Dali (Paph. liemianum x victoria-regina) that looks almost identical to this. It carried flowers for >1.5yrs.
