    Paph sanderianum 'Jungle Magic'

I've had this plant in my collection for 10 years and this is its first normal blooming for me. It spiked about 5 years ago, but the flowers were deformed. The flower petals are about 18" long. This one is pre -CITES wild collected. I got a division from Chuck Acker before he stopped growing...

    Phrag besseae 'Mega' x self

Got a flask of these from Sam when they were available several years ago. Insects (mites, maybe?) killed half before I realized they were even there. This is the second to bloom. I'll get a photo in better light if it's ever warm again in the DC area. Stephen

(Acker's Ballerina x Waunakee Sunset) Got this one from Rob. Originally from Chuck's breeding. It's intense.

Quick question for an Orchid Digest member.

What is the date range of electronic issues available on their website? Thanks!

    Phrag fischeri

I really like this little guy. Its staminodal shield is missing, as is not uncommon for this species. I expect it will self pollinate as it did last blooming. I'll let one pod grow and send the seeds for flasking if it gets that far. --Stephen

Sold Free compots - Phrag Green Hornet x fischeri

Hi all, I've got 3 free Phrag compots for the first person in the US to PM me. They are 15 months out of flask from a cross I made. One of the compots is bare root, as I kept 3 plants for myself. I don't have room for the rest. I'd like to ship them out ASAP. --Stephen

Wanted BS Paph druryi (for $$$ or trade for my tigrinum)

Hi all, I am looking for a BS Paph druryi. The more growths, the better. If someone has one, I can buy it or trade for a division of my Paph tigrinum: I repotted this one a few months ago. It has a couple big old roots and is putting out nice new roots. Here's its first bloom...

Drying and epoxying slippers - any advice?

Hi all, I'm planning on making some pendants of a small Phrag. I have watched many YouTube videos on this, but does anyone have advice they can share? I've bought this silica gel to dry the blooms: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WGK2KCW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I'm doing it in silica gel in...

Phrag Susan Robertson - my first hybrid

Hi all, I just bloomed my first orchid hybrid: Phrag Susan Robertson (Manzur la Aldea x Barbara Leann). I named it for my late aunt. The pouch is pinched, but hopefully it is normal on subsequent blooms. This one plant bloomed 13 months out of flask. I have a bunch more that should bloom...

    Phragmipedium Stephen Manza

This is widely considered to be the greatest orchid hybrid produced by mortal hands. Eric has a disturbingly large shrine to it in his living room. Pod sibs - Green Hornet x Barbara Leann --Stephen

    Paph liemianum

This one blooms with two growths like clockwork for me. The old spikes fade just as the new ones bloom. Although I can't seem to remember if it's every year or every two years... Right now it's got 5 flowers on two new spikes plus 2 flowers on an old spike. I've only ever seen it hold 3...

Wanted 10 or so BS Paph spicerianum

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can refer me to someone that has a pile of BS Paph spicerianum for sale. Bonus points for multi-growths. I'm hoping to have a whole forest of them later this year. Thanks, --Stephen

    Babies in from the lab

Flasks from 3 of my own new crosses just arrived from Orchid Origins. Quality growth, but many got jumbled in transport as usual. Luckily the plantlets are almost never damaged. 18 flasks that I have nowhere near enough room for. But I'll make space. --Stephen

    Paph tigrinum

This one blooms like clockwork. My other two prefer to sit there laughing at me.

    Cast it into the fire!

I moved my longifolium var gracile mid-bloom. That is my only guess.

    Wanted 2.25" x 3.25" clear square pots

Has anyone seen lipped 2.25" x 3.25" clear square pots for sale lately? They used to be common, but can't find a vendor currently selling them. These:

Need some help finding fine CHC

Hi all, Does anyone have a line on where I can buy fine CHC in bulk? My usual source, Kelly's Korner, is sold out on their site and not returning my emails. I checked other sites and found medium CHC, but no fine. I need 2 cubic feet or a compressed bale. Thanks! --Stephen

Dividing a plant 3 years overdue

Paph. Freckles 'White Sapphire'. I've been lazy the past few years and just repotted it. But I grow indoors and it was taking up way too much space.

    Peloric Phrag Green Hornet

I got a wonky bloom with 2 mirror-image pouches on my Phrag Green Hornet (longifolium x pearcei). I just wish it was genetically stable because I kinda like it. Normal bloom: The color's not quite right in the photos since they were taken under my grow lights, but you get the idea --Stephen
