    Paph. spicerianum

I would have to say that this is my favorite Paph. species & my picture does not do this plant justice. The flowers have been open for quite some time, but I haven't hand the time/energy to get my camera, etc, out... This plant has brought me so much joy over the last month. The two parents are...

    Paph. gratrixianum

My first time flowering this Paph. gratrixianum 'Wedgwood' AM/AOS x 'Lula Girl' & I'm very happy with the outcome. The plant has continued to grow vigorously since I received it this summer.

    Paph. vejvarutianum

I stopped by the DOS fall show this morning and had a great conversation with Andy from Andy's Orchids. He usually has a handful of Paph. & Phrag. species & I decided to bring this little Paph. vejvarutianum home with me.
  4. physiognomy

    Paph. Hilo Charlee

I stopped by the grocery store tonight to pick up some milk & was excited to find that they had a couple of Paph's in the floral department. Even with the ripped petal, I think this is a pretty cute little flower & couldn't resist taking it home with me. Nice color, too... Paphiopedilum Hilo...
  5. physiognomy

    Paph. superbiens var. curtisii

I bought this plant from Joan Bateman late last year & was happy when it came into bud. Cool flower plus the attractive foliage makes this a great species in my book. The tag reads P. curtisii 'Phillip' x P. curtisii 'Twilight Glow'
  6. physiognomy

    Paph. superbiens

I think this is my first time flowering this species... I also have another clone in low bud that I'm excited to see.

Has anyone heard from John Chant (JC94030)?

As the title states, I was wondering if anyone has been in communication with John Chant recently? I'm hoping everything is ok with him... I haven't had any communication regarding some plants I bought & would like to make sure things are ok. If anyone can confirm a contact phone number with...
  12. physiognomy

    Paph. Hsinying Alien

I bloomed this plant for the first time last year & wondered at the time whether there were two plants growing in the same pot... Well, this year I have my answer since this blooming has spots on the dorsal. From memory, the other clone held it's petals a little nicer.
  13. physiognomy

    Paph. lowii

This plant came from Carter & Holmes back in December... It was nice and healthy when I got it (one large growth and a start), but I didn't expect it to bud/flower quite so quickly. I'm very happy & look forward to seeing all three flowers open. Paph. lowii ('Cold Mountain' x 'TooGooDoo')
  14. physiognomy

Nice package from Carter & Holmes...

I can't remember who it was, but I have to thank the member that mentioned C&H had Paph. sukhakulii fma. aureum available. This was my first order from them & I am very happy! On to the pictures... Enjoy! The haul: Paph. venustum album Paph. sukhakulii album x Paph...
  15. physiognomy

    Paph spicerianum

There have been some very nice shots of this species posted recently, so I thought I'd add a couple of mine... This is the last of three flowers.
  16. physiognomy

    Paphiopedilum Amber Gold

I was gifted a division of this plant several years ago by a friend who has grown it since the '80s. My plant is not in top condition (recovering a period without regular fertilization, etc) & this is the first flowering in at least 3 years. Paph Agnes de Burc x Paph Winston Churchill = Paph...
  17. physiognomy

    Phrag. Sergeant Eric

First blooming for this plant... I repotted it early in the summer after some inconsistent care over the last couple of years. It responded well & has also put on some good growth.
  18. physiognomy

    Phrag. besseae var. flavum

I couldn't believe my luck when I noticed a group of these among the blooming orchids at a local nursery... Nothing nicer than getting to pick your favorite from a batch of first bloom seedlings.
  19. physiognomy

    Paph moquettianum

I bought this plant in bloom from Marie Selby Gardens back in March & it is still going strong... I think this might be the last of six or seven flowers on this spike. Not quite fully open yet, but I couldn't help taking a picture while I had my camera out.
  20. physiognomy

    Phrag. pearcei

I need to snap a better shot of this little beauty... The plant is growing in sphagnum, but I am starting to experiment with semi hydro & may see how this species takes to it under my conditions.
