    Paphiopedilum Jade Dragon flask

Here is an update on a flask that I got a little over a year ago from OrchidInn. The info from Sam is as follows: (OIV0152 Jade Dragon (malipoense 'Twin Tower' x fairrieanum 'Red Glory')) Red Glory is from our FCC strain with very dark red color. We hope for well colored Jade Dragon. The...

    Breeding trends for Yellow Paphs

Thanks for the replies. Very good things to consider. The breeding considerations are very valuable, I just need someone to quote. I already have Sam so just one more would be good I think. Definitely seeing some second generation parvi hybrids available now which is neat. I am kind of late to...

    Breeding trends for Yellow Paphs

Hello Slipper talk, I am an associate AOS judge for Montreal. A part of completing my training as an AOS judge is by collecting award information, expert testimonials and writing a report (also known as a probationary paper). My topic is Yellow Paph breeding with focus on the parvisepalum...

    Paph venustum?

Hello, my plant that I always thought was venustum is finally in bloom after aborting a few times, two flowers too!. The plant is a cross from Piping Rock Orchids. The petals have a lot of spotting and I am not sure if this is in the range of the species. Foliage is standard snakeskin pattern of...

    Joyce Hasegawa

Hello! I figured this would be the best place to add the photos of mine and not a new thread. Not super symmetrical but I am so happy to have it, and two blooms! It has a surprisingly strong fragrance that reminds me of a spiced yet floral soap. I hope they last a good amount time. As I said...

What do you find wrong with this flower? I really like the colour! I only see some symmetry issues. I also have one in bloom with two buds maybe two weeks behind yours. My buds are showing some colour on them but that may be cause mine is using the dunkel form of delenatii.

    The short-lived Fanaticum

So you think that is normal then for this grex? This is comforting that there is potentially nothing wrong. Thanks

    The short-lived Fanaticum

Hello Slippertalk! I have been having a minor issue with my Paphiopedilum Fanaticum with flowers only lasting for three weeks. I got this plant from Piping Rock in April 2019, bloomed July 2019 (photo 1) and then the next growth just finished blooming in June 2021 (photo 2). I thought the first...

Hybrid of Paph. rungsuriyanum - Paphiopedilum Fallersleben

Does this remind anyone of a cochliopedilum (sequential) group flower? Interesting. The rung hybrids I've seen all seem to be rung dominant.
