it would be absolutely fabulous if someone would make a video (or point me to one) with the correct pronunciation of all the different species of paphs out there! i feel like an idiot sometimes trying to sound out and pronounce the name of something when describing paphs i have or plants i want.

I want to see what the shows are all about, meet orchid people and attend lectures etc. Anybody have any recommendations on which shows I should look into attending? I'd like to plan and budget for a show or two.

just opened this morning!

we leave our windows and doors open in the spring/summer. screens don't seem to do much keeping the gnats out. the bugs are attracted to the orchid light fixtures and i have to put little sticky traps up so they don't swarm the lights. today i got my hair caught the sticky traps. let me tell you...

i woke up to my magic lantern var album fully open this morning and thought i'd share since i don't know how long the bloom will last. not as waxy as the brachys or complex i've bloomed in the past. curious how long this will last. apologies for the crappy phone pics.
