Yes Gigantic x First Class from Sam.

    Paphiopedilum Mustafa’s Mucho Gusto

Agreed. Sangii can definitely come through in this hybrid. The dorsal is taller than it is wide, the colors are richer than most venustum and the lower edge of the petals twist backward a bit.

    Paphiopedilum Mustafa’s Mucho Gusto

I love a good primary hybrid and since I failed miserably the one time I attempted to grow sangii, I thought this would be at least some consolation. The flower doesn’t have the intriguing shape of sangii, but at least it is easier to grow and the coloring is very good.

    Paphiopedilum charlesworthii fma. sandowiae

I usually don’t expect these to bloom in July, so when I first noticed this one in bud I was pleasantly surprised.

    Two forms of Paphiopedilum superbiens

No not really. I am fine with calling these curtisii, but in the past I was told that no they are superbiens. If there is settled nomenclature for these plants could someone please direct me to the publication?

    Two forms of Paphiopedilum superbiens

I bought these from Orchid Inn as seedlings of P. superbiens. Could you please direct me to the most recent literature that recognizes curtisii as a valid species. Kew lists curtisii as a synonym and elsewhere I have seen it listed as a variety of superbiens.

    strange Paphiopedilum delenatii foliage

The pattern is very stable. This plant had just the two lower leaves when I got it last year. It has grown steadily under LED lighting.

    strange Paphiopedilum delenatii foliage

I picked up a few of these at Hausermann's last year and they are growing as well as my normal delenatii. I considerate it to be a form of variegation and luckily it has enough chlorophyll to be viable. I think mine will be normal colored flowers as there is the usual red spotting on the...

I purchased this at Orchids by Hausermann.

    Paphiopedilum armeniacum x kolosand

This is a first bloom seedling and the foliage is compact.

    Paphiopedilum armeniacum x kolosand

Pretty much what you would expect from a mix of armeniacum, sanderianum and kolopakingii.

    I don’t know who I am!

maybe glaucophyllum x bellatulum. the dorsal coloring is closer to glaucophyllum.

    Two 'Bud' Brothers of Exuls

The parentage listed by Sam was albomarginatum a dilute semi album as the pod parent x var. album Alexej as the pollen parent. I am guessing that mine is only 99.99% album as there are just a few minuscule pinpoint dark spots where the stigmatic column joins the petals. It is probably more akin...

    Two 'Bud' Brothers of Exuls

I bought one of these from Sam last Spring. It just opened it’s first bloom this week. The second pic is braemii and wardii album also from Sam.

    Magic Lantern

I would say that there are definitely two plants here. Beside the very obvious color difference, the dorsals are not at all similar.

Paph. venustum album x Paph. henryanum album

My favorite P. venustum primary hybrid is P. Shanti Gardens(venustum x wolterianum). It has a strong venustum influence, but wolterianum manages to come through in a good way. I use to drool over a clone that Hausermann’s had in their collection many years ago. I put my name on the list for a...

    Paph. Maudiae Vinicolor 'Black Jack'

Possibly P. charlesworthii x P. Maudiae vinicolor which is actually P. Schaetzchen. In Google you can find a lot of sites(mostly european) calling this type of cross P. Black Jack and they are clearly charlesworthii x vinicolor crosses. The Black Jack seems to be more of a catchy generic...
