Today I went back to see what they had, and lo and behold, they had more phrags!

Best Flowerstore Find! - P. Eric Young

I took it home! The plant was initially in pretty poor condition, with some mushy roots and two dying leaves. Now though, the plant is recovering, and is currently maturing a new growth and growing a new root! Luckily, the rest of the plants at the store seem to be in good setups and are quite...

Best Flowerstore Find! - P. Eric Young

Some time ago, I went to visit a flowershop to buy something, and I found a Phragmipedium Eric Young on one of the shelves! I was pretty suprised, because it's not every day you see a phrag in such a place. Wondering if others have seen phrags or less common orchids in unexpected places.

    Acineta Chrysantha

Here's another picture of spike one! In the back, you can see a second spike ready to bloom. For those in SOOS, you may have seen it in the virtual show table of this October.

    Acineta Chrysantha

If you want to try them, I would go for it! I don't really give mine special care, as it just summers outside under a tree and is wintering with grow lights in my house. Though I don't really have enough experience to say for sure, they seem like a pretty easygoing and rewarding choice!

    Acineta Chrysantha

I absolutely love this species, and even though I have had it for only a few months, it has done quite a bit! The flowers are a really brilliant golden yellow dotted with rusty red splotches. They also smell heavily of irises and seem to be quite tolerant of temperature extremes.

    Greetings from Ontario!

, Hi! My name is Trevor and I have been growing orchids since I was ten! I grow a pretty common selection of phals, cattleyas (my favorites), oncidiums, phrags, and some other misc species on my windowsill and under lights. I hope to meet other growers! Cheers!
