My book (philosophy) is officially out!

Oh, and by the way, I also set up a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ThePhilosophersBookOfQuestionsAndAnswers I'm hoping the page will be kind of a virtual philosophical discussion group, where readers can talk to one another (and with me) about the questions and topics in the book—and...

My book (philosophy) is officially out!

Thanks again, everybody! And, yeah, Tyrone, I think that's really important for exactly the reason you give—and for other reasons as well. Here, this is from my introduction to the book: ------ The questions I ask will sometimes be ambiguous. They will sometimes be frustrating, or leading...

My book (philosophy) is officially out!

Well, this is actually my first single-author book. The rest are edited volumes. Plus I thought "my book is out!" sounded better than "my fifth book is out!"

My book (philosophy) is officially out!

My book has now officially been released! It's apparently on the "New Releases" table in the center of Barnes and Noble stores in major markets.

Prepublication sample of my next book

kentuckiense—Yeah, I teach at ODU! Do you ever come to the Tidewater OS meetings? We meet the first Sundays of most months. Our web presence is uninformative (I'm trying to change that) so we don't do outreach as well as we could . . . Charles; Tyrone: I'm sorry you're having trouble! Let me...

Prepublication sample of my next book

You might note the section of the sample about Jesus was about Camus's views—Camus was an atheist. But there is a fair amount of religion in the book. Such is the history of philosophy. As to the argument about dividing things and length, Kant's *point* there was that it was a false dichotomy...

    Phrag. Peruflora's Spirit

Ok, finally measured it! N.S. right around 11cm. And the bloom just dropped.

Prepublication sample of my next book

My publisher just released a sample from my next book; I wanted to share it with you all here! Go here to read or download the sample. It's a kind of philosophy-based "book of questions," designed to promote philosophical thought, writing, argument, and discussion either as a personal...

    Phrag. Peruflora's Spirit

Sorry—Got it from Glen Decker. I keep forgetting to measure the N.S. on the thing! Hopefully I'll remember soon and post back with that.

    Phrag. Peruflora's Spirit

I've been away for a while; been meaning to drop back by. This one coming into bloom has brought me back to share it with you. First bloom seedling. Peruflora's Spirit = Phrag. Eric Young x Phrag. kovachii. Click to embiggen.

    Cattlianthe Blue Angel

I think this would count as a "compact" Catt. PBs are slender, closely spaced on the rhizome, and about 7" tall; leaves are 8" (mostly 1 leaf per bulb, sometimes 2); 12 growths in a 8" pot, but taking up only a 6" diameter.

    Cattlianthe Blue Angel

Cattlianthe Blue Angel aka Lc. Blue Angel. From Sunset Valley Orchids, years ago. = C. Mini Purple 'Coerulea' x Ctt. Blue Boy 'True Blue' One spike with 6 blooms, 3 1/4" N.S. They'd be larger, but the petals did not open very flat. For this hybrid, this one has good color. Bluish...
