    my NOID phragmipedium

The guy I obtained it from has had it since 1980 and got it as a division. I know it is is a cross with a mix of schlimii and longifolium but as to the specific hybrid it is I don't know and don't have a detailed enough knowledge of phrags to be sure. He seemed to think it was a cardinale...

    my NOID phragmipedium

I got this plant last year as a division from a club. It is a division of very old plant and the grower I obtained it from has had it for decades. Grows like a weed. I have my guesses as to what it is but will never know for sure. Enjoy!

Phragmipedium Jason Fischer "Janet's Patience" 84 pts AM-my first time judging and first award. Story included.

I was really surprised that it got one actually because I knew that it was the most awarded hybrid in the hobby. But I looked it before hand and I thought mine might have a chance when looking on orchid pro.

Outdoor paphs for los angeles, zone 10b

Hi I am interested in expanding my paph collection as I want to grow more plants outdoors. My goal is to expand my paph collection and get plants that I wouldn't have to keep indoors. Would any of the cooler growing parvis or any multiflorals be sensible? Thanks!

    Leaves turning yellow, water issue?

Thanks for the recommendations. I am a little unfamiliar with using US measurements. I plan on getting a balance to start weighing out my fertilizer to get a better idea about how much I am adding and then dilute it into a 5 liter container. Are you factoring in the percent composition by mass...

    Leaves turning yellow, water issue?

I grow my phrags in a room in my house. Right now it gets about 65 at night and about 75 during the day. I run a humidifier and a fan and the humidity never dips below 50% but maxes out at about 60%. The rest of the house it dips pretty low. I have read about K-Lite fertilizer in the AOS...

    Leaves turning yellow, water issue?

Where did you get these nutrient values that you are targeting for phragmipediums? Can you give me reference?

    Leaves turning yellow, water issue?

I have been studying this issue I have had with 2 of my phragmipediums and I don't think I am quite getting my watering right. The short story is 2 of my phrags are showing yellowing leaves from the tips. I water with RO Water with a small amount of better gro fertilizer added at each watering...

Help me get the name right

Thanks! I thought it might be court Jester. I was under the impression that Phrag. Grande was a hybrid and that Giganteum was a variation of Caudatum. Thanks for the clarification. I wish I took pictures of the parent plant they had.

Help me get the name right

Hi Everyone. I recently made somewhat of an impulse purchase and bought a phragmipedium that was labeled as phragmipedium gigantieum x reticulatum and did some digging on it as these names didn't seem to show up. Am I correct that the true hybrid name should be phragmipedium caudatum var...

    My humble Paph Collection

thanks! Thank you. Thanks. I wonder how my two multiflorals are doing. I repotted the Michael koopowitz. it has a couple of dead roots and some actively growing roots. I had never repotted it but something tells me the media had broken down quite a bit and it was in need of it. It just...

    My humble Paph Collection

thank you! I went ahead and repotted the Michael Koopowitz and I found about half the roots were healthy and some were dead. I used a mixture of ground up bark, charcoal, lava, perlite and I used a small little bit of marble and sphagnum. I repotted the Rothschilds with this mixture and...

    My humble Paph Collection

Hi everyone. I am still pretty new to orchids. I bought my Rothschild and raisinpie in Nov. 2015. The raisinpie has grown a lot since then and I now have several new growths. The Rothchilds orchid has about doubled in size since I got it. Not sure how I am doing but it still hasn't died. The...
