    Paphiopedilum hermannii

As you are aware the consensus is natural hybrid elevated to species. Personally I could go with species from the beginning.

    A Few Paphiopedilum helenae

It’s Paph helenae blooming season at my house again. Here are a few in bloom now and several more are in bud.

    Paphiopedilum hermannii

First time bloom for this Paph hermannii. Had three others but cut the pouches of the pollinate without thinking about pictures first.

    Paphiopedilum henryanum

This flower has gotten better with each blooming... 5.5cm Wide dorsal this time.

(Paph Fumi’s Delight x Paph concolor fma striatum)

Hi Leslie I would say it’s a yellow flower overlaid with dark mahogany.

(Paph Fumi’s Delight x Paph concolor fma striatum)

This is the first of this cross to bloom. It was made by Clinton Lewis of Orchid Dynasty in Utah. The concolor fma striatum was a very unusual color and I managed to acquire a division of it for myself. The concolor fma striatum (pollen parent) used in this cross: Photo of (Paph Fumi’s Delight...

    Paphiopedilum concolor

I have several Paph concolor but only one in bloom right now. I do have some concolor chlorophyllum and concolor striatum in bud though.

Paphiopedilum Mystic Isle (Paph niveum x Paph Greyi)

Love these little hybrids. Pouch is a little wacky but I’m sure it will be fine next blooming.

    Paphiopedilum niveum

This is a new Paphiopedilum niveum bloom on a plant I got about a year ago.

Paphiopedilum Munchkin King Cheeriobed (acmodontum x King Charles)

I made this cross 5/2015. Pretty nice first bloom. I’d like to make it again if I could find some pollen from a very good King Charles.

1st International Vanda and Slipper Orchid Symposium

I go every year for a long time now. Great time to meet up with people from around the country and around the world. Vendors are good and I always come home with new stuff. As you probably know.... Frank Smith puts this on and he almost never has his own stuff there for sale because he doesn’t...

Cattleya walkeriana alba ‘Perfect Charm’ AM/AOS

I got this division from Chadwick’s a couple years ago. It grew well for me after repotting putting on two new lead growths. This winter it produced two bloom growths but aborted them for some unclear reason. Fortunately it immediately started to produce another and the second bud just finished...

    Cattleya xdolosa "Pendentive"

I found this enlightening. After reading this I checked the AOS Awards list for Cattleya walkeriana and, unless I’m reading it wrong, ‘Pendentive’ as well as the awarded offspring I know of are still listed as walkeriana. Also I believe the FCC award for ‘Orchidglade’ from 1965 is still there...

    Cattleya xdolosa "Pendentive"

Ok I’ll bite... what is xdolosa ‘Pendentive’? If you’re saying Cattleya walkeriana ‘Pendentive’ AM/AOS is xdolosa do you have any substantive proof... something that’s conclusive?

Paphiopedilum Nivesque Satin ‘Silver Creek’ HCC/AOS

Well less than a year since it’s last blooming. I made another cross with it by putting pollen from one of my Paphiopedilum hainanense on it. That’s a different direction for me but different might be the trick to getting some viable seed.
