    Sam retired

I went to his greenhouse in the summer of 2022, and bought 5 plants, 3 roths and 1 Prince Edward. One of the roths and the Prince Edward had bloomed, I was happy with the quality. I wish I bought more of the Prince Edward.

I was given this plant as a very tiny seedling 23 years ago. This is such a strong grower and very resilient plant.

    Questions about the rotschildianaum

I just went to Orchid Inn last week end and saw hundreds of roths NBS, none of them look like that. In situ, roths leaves can be as wide as 8 cm, but those are very mature plants. If you have the patient, just wait who know....

Did anyone know a grower named Dan Dickey?

I knew him, he was a great orchid grower! I had been to his greenhouse. I found his obituary, he passed away two years ago.

Paph Saint Swithin 'Labarum of Winchester' HCC/AOS

It was the first time for me. I got this 20 years ago as a small division in an orchid auction for $37. It got a little bit bigger and I nearly killed the plant. The original plant was awarded in May 1994.

Parvi Seedlings After 3 Years out of Flask

About 24 years ago, I was given by a friend of mine two flasks of Helen Congleton. It was the first time that I grew plants from flaks. I was able to bloom many of them. These plants are very strong and can handle even freezing temperature of Chicago.
