Paph. Varvara 'Penn Valley' HCC/AOS; other vintage Paphs

Hey all, I'm trying to hunt down a division of Varvara 'Penn Valley' HCC/AOS. Any leads? Im focusing my current collecting on vintage Paphs (especially mottle-leafed types) so other divisions are welcome for suggestion too.

OZ seedling, first bloom Paph. Ruby Wonder

Hello everyone. I haven't been on here for years, but now that I am done with medical school, I hope to have more time. My collection is still doing well and I have added some great new things. This is a first bloom seedling of Paph. Ruby Wonder that I bought from the OZ last year. I broke...

IDK where else to put this question :-)

The photos were changed so it was likely just an error in uploading. The newly posted plant looks right. Ive never dealt with that seller but have noticed he/she has been around for a long time. I have had some very good and some very bad experiences with eBay so when i saw that, I had to say...

IDK where else to put this question :-)

Hey all. Its been a few years since I have been active here, but my collection is back up and running. So, I saw this on eBay tonight. I thought it was so disturbing. This plant in the photos is DEFINITELY not an alba...and it is obviously not because of the coloration of the leaves...

Paph. sukhukulii alba 'Hilo Green Dragon' FCC Question

Hi all, Its been a couple of years since I have been active on this site... still growing a few plants since offloading much of my collection ... life has been intensely busy. Now things are slowing down and I am back to growing and even have been doing a bit of breeding! ;) I have a...

    Selling Collection incl. breeders

Thanks for all your comments! I appreciate the concern. As I said, I am keeping the plants that I can, including divisions of a couple on the list I posted. Rest assured, this isn't a knee jerk reaction as I will almost certainly be required to move which would necessitate liquidation to some...

    Selling Collection incl. breeders

Fellow Slippertalkers: After being laid off of work at my relatively new job (no need to expound on the economy!) this past week, I have had to make a very important decision...I will be selling most of my Paph collection. I will keep only a few plants, ones of great sentimental value...

    Nick's Trix 'Rojo' (prov.)

Hey all! Its been eons since Ive posted anything on here. So I took a photo today and thought I'd post again. This is the one of only 2 divisions of one of Nick Tannaci's top breeders. I bought the entire cultivar this last fall and have been waiting to see the flower. The other division...

    Color My World 'Shocker'

I dont have a photo of the whole plant, but I will take one if I can get around to it today. Also, I posted that this was S. Gratrix x Winston Churchill...It is actually Greyi x Winston Churchill. I knew that! ;) Oh well, sometimes one just has too much information in one's head- it gets...

Another one of Nick Tannacis paphs

Cool Gilda - I love brachys so its always nice to see another one. Shakkai - S. Gratrix is a very good breeder with other brachys or brachy hybrids. As is typical of most paph types though (brachy, complex, multis, parvis) the breeding potential drops quite a bit if you breed between groups...
