    Paph sangii

Well I’m glad to hear you recovered!! My step dad died from it a few months back. I grow everything in that west window with direct sun, even phalaenopsis like my schilleriana, and Celebensis. All my Bulbophyllum’s went crazy after putting them there too. All my paphs do great with those light...

    Paph sangii

It’s in a west window, where it receives bright shade most the day, and depending on the time of year, 2-4 hrs of direct sun in the afternoon. I’m sure it’s a lack of nutrients. This past year has been hectic and I haven’t had the time to properly care for my collection as I usually do. I will...

    Hoya fungii

It’s definitely something I’ve never seen and a sight to behold for sure!! Interesting observation on the flower patterns and number of points on the stars! I didn’t notice that! Good eye!

    Hoya fungii

Hi there! That’s very interesting! Thank you. All the species of Hoya I have only smell at night, except for my Hoya lacunosa. As far as excess nutrients, I’ve been lazy with the Hoyas this year, as it’s been a hectic year for sure! That being said, I’ve only fertilized them once this year in...

    Paph sangii

Well here it is. First bloom for me. A little deformed, but that’s ok. I’m just glad I was able to bloom it!! I bought it as a small seedling, a year and a half ago and it’s been very vigorous for me.

    Silica

I use 12-16 mess silica in a lot of my mixes. They do really well.

    Paph. sukhakulii gone wrong

I had this as a bloom last year from my malipoense! No petals! Lol it’s in spike again right now, so we will have to see if this years bloom does the same or not.

    Paphiopedilum farrieanum

That’s one of the best examples of the species I’ve seen. Very well done!

    Paph Sangii in bud!!

    I agree. Very important.

    Paph Sangii in bud!!

I’ve seen Sangii bloom on spikes as short as yours, so don’t base the time on the spike length. And yes, I repotted it a few months ago, before it started spiking.
