    Phrag. sargentianum

Bloom opened up on Wednesday for one of my sargentianums. This one is from the 'Really Red' x self flasks that @eaborne sent out to OZ. Need to take better pics in the day light since under the lights is not ideal.

Phrag. La Hougette 'Kelly Creek' AM/AOS

I have two plants in bloom currently, one I have already shared. Phrag. La Hougette 'Kelly Creek' AM/AOS- EYOF breeding, 3 growth division was sent in spike so I cannot take too much credit, this is the 3rd bloom. Part of the reason I wanted to share is that ns is well short of the awarded...

This is why we cannot have nice things...

Today's victims were two besseae frma. flavums, a good clone of fischeri and an awarded Jason Fischer. Aside from a handful of my phrags eveything is on the chopping block until reaching a decent number of mature growths. Anyone that practices cutting spikes have noticeable impact they can...

    Sundew in bloom

Been putting in yeoman's work keeping my orchids safe. Noticed a spike a couple of weeks ago and figured I would let it bloom. Opens sequentially and each bloom only stays open for a handful of hours and then withers. I believe these can self pollinate which explains the short window of being...

    Phrag. besseae f. flavum

This is my second blooming OZ clone besseae frma. flavum. Like my other OZ flavum it has a wonky first flower. This one is around 7.5cm (bigger than my other one) and still opening. Just want to see how it looks on day 3 and will cull for the next bloom. This plant seems to be less of a climber...

    Phrag. vittatum

It's not a bloom but about the next best thing. I could barely contain my excitement today. A new growth emerging from a mossy layer. This is from Tom Kalina of Fox Valley and is nearly 10 years out of the flask, Phrag. vittatum 'Birchwood' x self. I just hope it is not another 10 years before...

    Wanted: Phrag. hartwegii

Looking for a Phrag. longifolium var. hartwegii division or previously bloomed plant. I have seen some posts of great looking plants here and hoping someone might have a division available to add to my longifolium family. -Max

    No roots, No Problem?

Backstory is this is a purchase from Ebay that arrived without good roots (seller said I must have done something when I complained). Was someone was trying to pull a fast one on me? Plant was heat damaged and living in a tiny pot. This is supposedly a 5-6 year old multi-growth kovachii and...

Phrag. longifolium var. gracile - Sideshow Edition

Had a suspicion yesterday when I could see the bud with daylight shining through it. Was growing this out to see if the quality of the bloom would be good... um.

    Phrag. warszewiczianum

Just beginning to open up. Spotted pouch and dark coloring. Looks like I will need a pale/pink form. At least 4 new growths so hoping next bloom will have multiple spikes.

    Phrag. besseae f. flavum

I believe there was some moisture on the bloom while it was forming. I like the color and flattening out nicely on the good side. I am hoping the next bloom is not messed up. If next bloom is bad I will cut the spike and give the plant a much needed repot.

    Phrag. humboldtii/popowii/caudatum

So I have a "caudatum" that is originally from the Orchid Zone. Tag says "Z2559 NFS caudatum" anyone know more about their numbering system? If this lines up, when this would have been labelled as caudatum? Blooms just opening up confirming my suspicions that it was indeed not what is...

    Wanted: Phrag. klotzscheanum

Anyone in the US have a Phragmipedium klotzcheanum they would be willing to sell? Preferably a division or bs plant. Or a klotzchianum, since I have seen it spelled both ways. Max

    Phrag. Jason Fischer 'Nancy' AM/AOS

    Phrag. besseae

    Phrag. schlimii var. manzurii

Successfully rescused this one. When I got this home I went to do a repot found almost all the roots were dead. Now throwing out healthy roots and finally opened up yesterday. Took near two months to flower.

    Phrag. Fritz Schomburg

Just opened up yesterday. Will add extra pictures as it opens up further. Krull-Smith breeding, besseae 'Crystelle' x kovachii

    Phragmipedium Millbrook

Day 3 of bloom open. Reminds me a bit of Rocquier. Purchased in spike, so not a ton of work on my part aside from keeping it alive, but first bloom was banged up in shipping. Have not seen a lot of pictures of Millbrook so I figured I would share. Oh and from Quintal Farms.

Advice for more growing space for Phrags (Lights, Shelves, Action)

So I am more or less close to maximizing out my available grow space in the windowsills. How did this happen? Who's to blame? What now... I am thinking next option is getting a wire shelving unit 72"x36"x18" (see attached photo for an idea). One thought is to have 3 shelves; one top shelf for...

    My first deflasking

I really wanted to get the full experience of growing phrag. besseae. One week in and they are all still alive and seem to be doing well. There seemed to be a myriad of options but I opted for a compot with orchiata, perlite, charcoal mix and a little dash of oyster shell. The annoying part was...
